Under the Ministry of Power's Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), KPDCL is implementing a comprehensive Advanced Metering Infrastructure project across its distribution network. The project replaces conventional meters with smart prepaid meters — enabling automated energy accounting, real-time data collection, and digital consumer services — executed by an Advanced Metering Infrastructure Service Provider (AMISP) on a Design, Build, Finance, Own, Operate and Transfer (DBFOOT) basis, with REC Power Development & Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) as the Project Implementing Agency (PIA).
